Georgina placed all of her value on what society thought of her. Every thought, action, relationship was centered on improving her social standing and the opinions of others. She'd forgotten that there was more to life than her public persona. Colin also had forgotten to an extent. He'd become consumed by a goal that was somewhat more admirable - being a shining light of a Christian businessman in a corrupt world - but had forgotten all of the more personal aspects of life that we need to pay attention to.
